2nd Alarm Condominium Fire - Village of Fishkill

   

Incident

Fishkill, N.Y. - Monday, June 25, 2007 At 0222 hours the Village of Fishkill FD and the East Fishkill FD F.A.S.T. Team were dispatched on a First Alarm assignment to the Fishkill Park Condominiums, Building 25 off Village Park Drive for a structure fire.



Car 42-2 called on the scene with heavy fire showing from the cockloft of Building 25. Car 42-1 then called on the scene assuming Command with 42-2 taking command of interior Operations. All primary searches were negative and an aggressive interior attack was immediately started. A Second Alarm was transmitted for two additional engines and a truck to the scene and an engine for coverage at the Village of Fishkill Station. A special call was later made for another truck and engine to assist with opening up.

At 0244 hours, 42-1 reported the fire knocked down and at 0256 hours reported the fire under control with extensive overhaul underway.

The Dutchess County Fire Investigation Unit was called to the scene to investigate the cause and origin of the fire. The fire is not considered suspicious at this time.

The Red Cross provided assistance to the displaced residents of Building 25.

There were no reported injuries.

Thanks to the following Departments for their assistance: East Fishkill Fire District, Hughsonville Fire Company, Rombout Fire Company, City of Beacon Fire Department, Slater Chemical Fire Company, Alamo Ambulance Service and several Police agencies.
