Past Ass't. Chief Richard (Radar) Wolfe and Firefighter Bill VanPelt facilitated 12 fire prevention programs for children ranging from preschool to elementary school age. The programs were adjusted for age so each group received a customized fire safety message. Sessions included discussions on fireworks, electrical safety, smoking materials and kitchen safety. Demonstrations using student participation covered; making 911 calls using working telephones, checking doors for heat and crawling low to avoid smoke, stop-drop & roll, EDITH, firefighter victim removal and of course, all groups toured the fire station, sat in a fire truck and wore a fire helmet.

Our thanks to all the educators and parents who realized the importance of Fire Safety and to all the very well mannered students from; De Kinder School, Stepping Stones, Kiddie Academy, Blodgett Memorial Library Group, Fishkill Elementary School Kindergarten and Brinkerhoff Elementary School Kindergarten.
