A Funeral with full firematic honors was held for Chief Schnibbe in Hastings-on-Hudson on Friday, March 10, 2006. Fighterfighters, friends and neighbors from around the region and State attended to pay a final tribute to Bob. Members of Bob’s home Company – Protection Engine Company # 1 – served as Pallbearers and the Mayor of Hastings gave a very stirring eulogy.

It is with Great Regret that we announce the Line of Duty Death of Bob Schnibbe, Deputy Chief (Ex-Chief) of the Hastings-On-Hudson Fire Department and Deputy Fire Coordinator for the County of Westchester. Chief Schnibbe was operating at a working structure fire in neighboring Irvington on March 3, 2006 when he succumbed.

Chief Schnibbe and Protection Engine Company of the Hastings-On-Hudson Fire Department have been close friends and Brothers of this Department for years.
