2008 Hero's Award

Poughkeepsie, NY April 10, 2008 - More than 40 local police officers, EMTs and firefighters were honored at the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel during the Salute to Dutchess County Heroes Awards Dinner sponsored by the Exchange Club.

Award categories included Lifetime Achievement, Community Involvement, Child Mentoring, Heroic Acts and Teamwork Within a Squad.

Village of Fishkill, LT. William VanPelt and FF Richard Wolfe were recognized and awarded for their outstanding work in Child Mentoring.

Fishkill, N.Y. - Protection Engine Company recently recognized four firefighters for their continuing efforts in fundraising activities for the Company. President Jeff Lucariello, Lieutenant Tom Ricotta, Ex-Chief Donald Williams Jr., and Firefighter Keith Scofield were each awarded a 3 month membership to All Sport Racquetball and Fitness Center for their efforts during 2007. We would like to thank All Sport-Fishkill for their generous donation of the memberships.

This award is given yearly to a member that has shown exemplary service to the company, department or community. Please place your nomination in a sealed envelope marked �personal & confidential� addressed to President Lucariello. Deadline for submitting nominations is May 31st.

Fishkill, NY April 1, 2008 � Protection Engine Company held its 105th Annual Turkey Supper at the Fire Station located at 1132 Main Street. As in past years, this fundraiser was well attended by Village residents, neighboring firefighters and other friends of the Fire Department. Many take-out orders were also delivered by the members to residents that could not make the trip to the fire station.
