By Allan R. Way, Company Historian.
This account is based on Herman Dean’s record of the details form our 100th Anniversary Book published in 1929.
The date was September 12th, 1906. The number of visitors in town that day was estimated at 7,000. No TV, No radio, no malls. This was a big deal. The Village population was only a couple of hundred at this time. Many of the stores and houses were elaborately decorated.
Village of Fishkill – September 9, 2006 The annual Mayor’s Trophy Softball Game between the Fishkill Fire Department and Fishkill Police Department was played at Shepheard Memorial Park on Sept. 9. This game is played yearly around the 9-11 Anniversary in remembrance our Brothers and Sisters who lost their lives from the tragic events of that day. The game also strengthens the already strong bond between the FD and PD.

9-11-06 Dedication
Village of Fishkill – September 11, 2006 The day dawned very much like a day 5 years ago with a clear sky and bright sun. This was the day the Village of Fishkill and its Emergency Service Units were going to dedicate the Village Memorial to 9-11. It was the fifth anniversary of the horrific attacks of 9-11-01.
