Fishkill Provides Assistance to East Fishkill at Fishkill Farms Fire

Wiccopee, N.Y. – Wednesday, May 20, 2009 The Fishkill Fire Department with 42-12 responded to Fishkill Farms on East Hook Cross Road under a Second Alarm assignment to the East Fishkill Fire District. Upon arrival, heavy fire was showing from a storage barn and extending. Several more Alarms were sounded for additional tankers and ladder trucks. The Fishkill Crew with 42-12 was assigned a ladder operation at the 3 - 4 corner area.

The Farm is owned by Robert Morgenthau and during World War II, President Franklin D. Roosevelt and British Prime Minister Winston Churchill met at the farm to discuss war strategy. Robert Morgenthau's father, Henry, was FDR's treasury secretary at the time.

Fishkill, NY - On October 11, 2008 at 1953 hours, the Village of Fishkill Fire Department was dispatched for smoke coming from the building that housed Pizza Phil’s at 973 Main Street.

Beacon NY - On Wednesday August 8, 2007 at 5:26 PM the Beacon Fire Dept. and Beacon Volunteer Ambulance responded to a reported structure fire at the Newburgh Beacon Bridge maintenance area at 29 Newburgh - Beacon Way.

Upon arrival Beacon Chief Tim Joseph found a 30 x 100 storage garage with heavy smoke showing. Firefighters forced entry and began to attack the fire.

Fishkill, N.Y. - Monday, June 25, 2007 At 0222 hours the Village of Fishkill FD and the East Fishkill FD F.A.S.T. Team were dispatched on a First Alarm assignment to the Fishkill Park Condominiums, Building 25 off Village Park Drive for a structure fire.

Hopewell Junction, N.Y. – Thursday, February 8, 2007 At approximately 0320 hrs the Fishkill Fire Department with 42-12, 42-1 and 42-2 responded to 62 Sandy Pines Blvd. under a Second Alarm assignment to the East Fishkill Fire District. Upon arrival, heavy fire was showing from the 2 – 3 exposure of the building and extending upward. An interior attack had been started immediately by East Fishkill Firefighters but with the fire progressing into the cockloft with light truss construction, a pull back was ordered. Shortly thereafter, a roof collapse occurred.
